This sweet family came to Orange County for Dad’s

This sweet family came to Orange County for Dad’s work and made a vacation out of it. Best way to make a work trip fun, right?! Coming from Florida where there is a lot of sand and water but no rocks or cliffs, they wanted a location in Orange County that was going to give them that Southern California vibe. One of my favorite locations in Laguna Beach came to mind because of the rocks, the cliffs and palm trees in the background. And it’s just an absolutely gorgeous spot! The tide luckily worked in our favor and we secured our permit through the city of Laguna.

Since the boys were still on East Coast time, we planned for an early morning session and soaked in that soft, beautiful morning light at the beach. There was barely anyone at the beach which was so great in giving us more privacy and allowing to us to listen to the relaxing waves while we captured their time together.

They travel a lot and were telling me they have a travel wall in their home so they get a big canvas printed from every location they go to and I can’t wait to see which one they choose from their session to print and display in their home.

Sun soaked moments meant just for the two of you (well, three if you count all the kicks). ☀️

These quiet final days deserve to be remembered before your little one arrives and changes everything in the very best way. Before there were kids, there was just the two of you.

Soon there will be sleepless nights, diaper changes and feedings…beautifully chaotic but a very draining and tiring time. Maternity sessions are such a special way to hold onto that joy, that anticipation, that “us” right before your family grows.

I have limited availability for Maternity sessions in September, October, November and December but would love to capture this time for you and your partner.

It’s a bittersweet feeling we feel so deeply as pa

It’s a bittersweet feeling we feel so deeply as parents. We love every new stage and age our kids get to but it’s so hard to say goodbye to those little stages as babies and toddlers.

There’s a version of your child that exists right now and will fade in a matter of months. The way they say certain words wrong in their adorable baby voice, the exact size of their hand in yours and the chubby cheeks that we love to kiss. I’m not just taking pictures, I’m keeping a version of them that you can hold onto long after today is gone.

I take this job so seriously because as a Mom, I know these moments matter. We may not realize how much they matter today, tomorrow or even a few months from now but years later we’re going to look back at these memories of their childhood and be reminded of every thing we loved about them at this precious age.

These are the moments I’m always chasing as a fami

These are the moments I’m always chasing as a family photographer. Not the perfectly posed ones but the real, squishy cheeked, blink and you’ll miss it kind of moments.

I take these photos for you to remember the way your kids fit in your arms right now because one day they won’t fit the same. For the way their nose scrunches when they laugh, a sight and sound that you want to remember forever. For the way they reach for you like you are their whole world because right now, you are.

But I’m also thinking about them years from now.

I’m thinking about the day they sit with these photos in their hands and see their childhood for themselves. How much Dad loved them, how Mom kissed every boo boo and wrapped them in pure unconditional love, how safe and seen and completely adored they were in this season of life. It isn’t just about memories for you, it’s also about proof for them.

I’m just over here trying to bottle up a feeling that doesn’t stay still. I’ve learned that being a parent is such a bittersweet thing. We love our babies with every ounce of who we are and love every age and stage we get to. But with new stages comes the end of stages and it’s so hard and heartbreaking to say goodbye to those moments that seemed to pass by in the blink of an eye. My youngest turns 2 on Friday and I’m feeling extra sentimental and emotional this week and had to share what was on my heart.

Planning a Southern California Engagement Session? Let’s talk about how to make it fun, relaxed and totally you. After all these photos are the story of you and your partner so they should feel like you!

-Choose a meaningful location…Think beach sunsets, desert vibes, green mountain views or the spot where your story began. This beach was a special spot the bride had gone to for many years so it made for a meaningful place for their Laguna Beach engagement session.

-What should we wear? I know there are a million styles and a million and one options but choose something that best reflects you, your style and the vibe you want your photos to portray. Dress comfortably and think of more coordinating with your partner instead of being super match-y match-y., Flowy, breathable, and movement-friendly are great things to think about in your outfit selections.

-This is special time with your partner away from scrolling on social media, busy calendars, work, etc. Make it a date, not a photoshoot…Think outside the box! Grab coffee, pop some champagne, lets play your favorite music… let the moments unfold naturally and have fun. We can get some really great photos by incorporating some fun things that you and your partner enjoy.

-Trust your photographer! Hi, that’s me! 🙋🏼‍♀️You don’t need to know how to pose. I hear it all the time..”we’re awkward and don’t know what to do!” Guess what? I’m the same way when I get in front of the camera. It’s normal and you are not alone! But don’t worry, I got you! Just focus on each other, enjoy your time together and I’ll guide the rest.

-Golden hour magic and calming blue hour — That dreamy SoCal glow hits different right before sunset. That’s when golden hour is at its peak. Once the sun sets below the horizon line and we lose that “golden glow”, it becomes blue hour which is also another beautiful time and gives a cooler and slightly more moody look.

Big Bear is somewhere that has always been special

Big Bear is somewhere that has always been special to me. It’s a place that I’ve gone since I was young..whether for camping, off-roading with the Jeeps or a place I’ve spent relaxing weekends at to refresh and refuel. Once i’m up there with the smell of the trees and the breathtaking views, I feel like i’m able to breathe deeper and anything that has been weighing on me disappears. It’s one of my happy places and somewhere I need to get back to and share with my kids. It’s been awhile and I need a good nature sesh!

I have done quite a few Big Bear engagements sessions, like this one, as well as family sessions and wedding portraits. I have yet to do a Big Bear Elopement but would love to! If anyone knows someone who’s eloping in Big Bear or wants a session in the mountains, I’m your girl! 🐻
