Orange County Maternity Session

Maternity Photos in Dana Point, CA

These two traveled all the way from Washington for a babymoon in Orange County before welcoming their first baby, and honestly, I can’t think of a better way to spend those final weeks before life gets wonderfully chaotic.

Because let’s be real..Once baby arrives, spontaneous beach walks and peaceful dinners become a little harder to come by. Totally worth it, of course, but it’s different.

While they were in town, they decided to document this season with a maternity session on the beach in Dana Point below The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel and the evening could not have been more perfect. The weather was beautiful, the ocean was calming and everything was covered in that dreamy golden light photographers never stop talking about. It just never gets old!

More importantly, these two were just so excited. Throughout the session, we captured a mix of playful moments and the quieter, more emotional ones too. Lots of laughter, lots of cuddling up, and lots of moments where you could tell they were imagining what life is going to look like in just a few short weeks. Those are always my favorite sessions. The ones that feel less like posing for photos and more like documenting real memories and moments.

There is something so special about this chapter of life. You’re standing right on the edge of a huge adventure, knowing everything is about to change in the very best way. This session wasn’t just about maternity photos. It was about celebrating their last vacation as a family of two and documenting all the excitement, anticipation, and love before becoming a family of three.

And honestly? Their baby is already so lucky! After sharing emails back and forth with them and getting to third wheel (or would it be fourth wheel? lol) during their session, I got to see just the kind of parents they were going to be to their sweet baby girl.
