Redlands Wedding Photographer – Travis & Jillian’s Kimberly Crest + Mitten Building Wedding

Okay who wants to hear a real life Boy Meets World love story?

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings and meeting couples is hearing about how they met.  Some have met on dating websites, some have met through mutual friends, etc.  It’s very rare that I hear a story about the couple having known each other since they were young.  And that is exactly how the story of these two began.  Travis and Jillian lived across the street from each other when they were younger.  They quickly began a friendship but that friendship eventually grew into romance.  They both attended the same high school and started dating Jillian’s freshman year and have been together ever since.  How sweet is that?

The Proposal

Travis decided it was time to propose the day before Thanksgiving back in 2015.  He took Jillian into LA for a romantic dinner at the Whisper Lounge at The Grove.  On their way to the restaurant, Travis strategically drove past LACMA hoping that the LACMA lights would entice Jillian to want to go after dinner to experience the ambiance and atmosphere.  Little did she know, that location was already on their list of places to go after dinner because that’s where Travis was planning to propose.

After they finished dinner, they drove back to LACMA and walked through the lights.  It was then that Travis dropped to one knee and asked his beautiful, long term girlfriend to marry him and become his fiance.  She of course said yes and all of this was documented by a photographer that Travis had hired.  They were so excited and could now officially begin the wedding planning!  Even though Jillian pretty much had everything already figured out for their wedding 😉

I’ve known Travis and Jillian since high school so when I got the email from Travis about photographing their wedding, I was super excited!  They are another high school sweetheart success story, like my husband and I, and I was very honored to hear that they wanted me to photograph their special day.

The Wedding Day

After about 7 1/2 months of planning, their wedding day arrived.  Their wedding ceremony was at the stunning Kimberly Crest in Redlands, CA.  The girls got ready there in the bridal suite and the guys got ready at a nearby hotel.  Their ceremony was on the lawn right in front of the house which made for such a beautiful ceremony.  Once they said ‘I Do’ and we completed the family photos as well as the Bride and Groom photos, we then moved onto The Mitten Building.  The Mitten Building is a beautiful building with exposed brick and wooden beams and it’s just a short 5 minute drive from the Kimberly Crest.  At the Mitten Building we did the bridal party photos and then brought everything inside to party the night away with this sweet couple and their amazing family and friends.

It was hands down one of my favorite weddings from start to finish and I can’t even begin to describe how happy their guests and I were to see Travis and Jillian become husband and wife after all this time.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two!  Thanks again for letting me be a part of your perfect day.
