Michael + Jamie // The Casino – San Clemente Wedding Photographer
As excited as I am to see my wonderful couples get married, I do slightly get sad once the wedding day is here and gone. And that is because I don’t get to see them as often anymore. I’ve been very fortunate that a lot of my couples refer me to their family and friends who are getting married so often times I will get to see them again as guests at other weddings. I will say though, thank goodness for Facebook, Instagram and social media. It’s become a great way to keep in touch with these special people I hold near and dear to my heart. Especially when they move out of state! Michael received an incredible job offer up in Seattle and is doing amazing things in the world of health and I can’t wait to see all the success and excitement in store for both him and Jamie.
Michael grew up in Switzerland and moved to the States about 7 years ago. He met Jamie on a dating website which I think is pretty amazing. It’s love stories like this that proves online dating can work and does work! They both are extremely passionate about music and that is something that they had in common from the start. You’ll see as you scroll through their photos that they included a lot of music related decor into their wedding day. Even during their engagement session in Joshua Tree, they included a guitar and some vinyl records. You can tell that they have a strong love for music but even stronger is their love for one another.
On October 28th, Jamie and Michael along with some of their family and friends attended a Halloween concert at the music venue they had first physically met at. Because it was a Halloween concert, they were all dressed and decided to go as hippies. During the concert and right in the middle of the mosh pit, Michael dropped to one knee and asked Jamie to marry him. Of course she said yes and that was the moment that marked the beginning of their forever.
Their wedding took place at The Casino in San Clemente, CA. It was a warm July day but it was so beautiful outside and being by the beach made the air a little cooler. Jamie and her bridesmaids got ready in the Bridal Suite at the venue while Michael and his groomsmen got ready at a hotel next door. They didn’t want to do a first look with each other but Jamie did want to do a first look with her dad. If you and your fiance don’t want to do a first look together, I HIGHLY recommend doing a first look with your dad. It was such an emotional moment between the two of them and I know it’s something that they will remember forever. I started getting teary eyed just watching them interact, hug and wipe away tears.
Michael and Jamie’s wedding day was incredible. We got some really beautiful photos at their venue and took a quick 3 minute walk down to the beach to capture the fun bridal party photos. I have to say that this group was one of the best bridal party groups I have ever photographed. They were so much fun to be around and are very genuine and sweet people much like Michael and Jamie. Once the bridal party photos were finished, we continued photos on the beach with the bride and groom portraits. We were blessed with a beautiful day and that lighting during the bride and groom photos was perfect. The sunlight was warm and dreamy and paired perfectly with the combination of laughter, love and romance that their photos portrayed. The reception was such a fun party and I think everyone in attendance was on the dance floor. Family, friends and music is extremely important to these two and I would say they had the perfect wedding that really incorporated their love for their family and friends and their passion for music. Congratulations again Michael & Jamie!
